Early life and education

Otunga was born in Elgin, Illinois, to father Moses, a Kenyan, and an American mother, Billie, both of whom are educators.^[5] He is the youngest of three children.^[5] Otunga graduated from Larkin High School^[6] and later earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Illinois.^[6] Following his graduation, he moved to New York City
